Start with the airflow your extraction system needs to handle in use. Choose a filter with a matching practical capacity. Technical capacity is a separate rating; do not treat it as additional operating headroom above the practical filter capacity.
The Can Lite 600 is 47.5 cm long; the Can Lite 800 is 33 cm long. The 800 is shorter but has a wider body. Consider all dimensions together. Give us the fan model, connection size and a sketch of the layout for help choosing.

| Model | Practical capacity (m³/h) | Filter length (cm) | Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Can Lite 600 | 600 | 47.5 | 4 |
| Can Lite 800 | 800 | 33 | 5 |
| Can Lite 1000 | 1000 | 50 | 11 |
| Can Lite 1500 | 1500 | 75 | 15.5 |
| Can Lite 2000 | 2000 | 100 | 19 |
| Can Lite 2500 | 2500 | 100 | 23 |
| Can Lite 3500 | 3500 | 100 | 33.5 |
| Can Lite 4500 | 4500 | 100 | 36.5 |
A Can Lite filter uses activated carbon to reduce odour compounds in the airflow. The extractor moves the air. The right combination depends on required air exchange, fan setting and resistance from the filter, ducting and bends. A fixed floor area alone is not enough to choose a filter.
Matching a filter to an existing inline fan? Record the model and operating setting. Plan a short, straightforward route with suitable ventilation ducting. A higher number on the fan alone does not establish that the combination is suitable.
The lengths in the table describe the filter body. Check the chosen flange separately, including its fit and the supplied fittings. Read our guide to diameters, connections and reducers and browse ventilation flanges.
Support the filter securely and seal the air path carefully. Check the prefilter for dust and keep airflow unobstructed. If odour control declines, first inspect connections, airflow and the prefilter. Saturated carbon needs replacing; one fixed lifespan does not apply to every system.

Match flanges, connectors and reducers by function and fit. Check both ends and avoid assuming that 125 mm and 127 mm are interchangeable.

Compare right-angle and angled branches. Choose a tee or Y-piece by the duct route, and understand why two outlets do not guarantee equal airflow.

Fit flexible ducting without distorting the connection. Choose the correct clamp range and treat fixing, sealing and support as separate tasks.
