CAN carbon filters

CAN Filters help reduce odours in air extracted from your grow tent or grow room. Choose Can Lite, Can Original or another CAN model by airflow capacity, connection size and installation space. We help you match the filter, extractor and ducting as a complete system.

Can 9000 for a lower airflow

Need a filter with a practical capacity of 200 m³/h? Consider the Can 9000 and check the appropriate flange and installation space.

Can 9000

Which CAN carbon filter suits your extractor?

Start with the airflow your extraction system needs, rather than the largest filter. Match the filter to the airflow at your fan’s operating setting. Filters and ductwork add resistance; a fan’s free-air rating is not a measurement of the complete system.

Can Lite uses lightweight activated carbon. Can Original is the pelletised-carbon range. Then compare the specific models: a higher capacity does not always mean a longer filter. The Can Lite 800, for example, is shorter than the Can Lite 600.

  • Airflow capacity: start with the practical filter capacity.
  • Connection: check the flange size and supplied fittings.
  • Installation: allow room for the filter, its support and ducting without tight bends.

For lower airflow, consider the Can 9000 too. Check airflow at the operating setting, the connection size and the space needed for the filter and ducting.

Practical capacity and flange size are separate checks

Practical capacity is the airflow rating used to match a filter to extraction. The technical capacities of the Can Lite 600 and 800 are higher; do not substitute those values for the practical ratings when choosing.

The outside diameter in the table describes the housing, not the flange connection. Check the available flange, your inline fan and ventilation ducting for the exact version. A suitable reducer connects two sizes, but does not establish that airflow capacity is suitable.

Seal the air path and keep the prefilter accessible

Mount the filter securely and support the ducting so its weight does not pull on the connection. Keep the route short and straightforward and avoid sharp bends. Use suitable mechanical fixing and sealing material at each joint.

The prefilter captures dust before air reaches the activated carbon. Inspect it regularly and follow the maintenance instructions for your model. If odour control declines, also check leaks, airflow and humidity. Our guide to flanges, clamps and sealing helps you inspect the connections.
