Measuring jugs

Measure water and liquid plant nutrients with a jug suited to your portion. Our Fertraso range covers 50 to 2000 ml. We recommend choosing by capacity and how clearly you can read the scale: maximum capacity does not tell you the smallest dose you can measure.

Choose by your portion, not your reservoir size

A 20-litre reservoir does not require a 20-litre measuring jug. You measure the individual nutrient portion. Calculate the millilitres needed for each product first, then choose a capacity that holds that amount.

Calculation example: if your schedule specifies 2 ml per litre, 10 litres of water requires 20 ml of that product. This is a calculation example, not a general feeding recommendation. A 50 ml measuring jug or 100 ml jug offers a smaller format; check that the required value is clearly marked.

For larger portions, choose 250 ml, 500 ml, 1000 ml or 2000 ml. Leave room when carrying liquid. A large jug does not replace fine dosing equipment for quantities you cannot reliably read.

Calculate and mix in a consistent order

Check whether your feeding schedule specifies millilitres per litre or per 10 litres. Multiply the prescribed amount by your actual water volume. Calculate each product separately; do not combine their doses into one general amount.

Fill your nutrient reservoir with water and add products in the specified order. Do not mix A and B concentrates directly in the jug. Add them separately to the water and stir between steps. Read our guide to mixing CANNA Coco A&B.

A measuring jug measures volume. Use suitable pH and EC meters to check acidity and conductivity.

Read the scale and keep your jug clean

Stand the jug upright on a level surface and read the scale at eye level. Check the unit and the marking you need. Avoid estimating small portions in a large jug. Use fine dosing equipment if the scale does not clearly show your portion.

Clean the jug after use and check for residue. Use separate clean jugs for different concentrates or clean thoroughly between products. Do not return leftover product to the stock bottle.

Capacity and brand are confirmed. Plastic type, dishwasher suitability, chemical resistance and measuring tolerance are not specified. Check suitability before using hot water, aggressive substances or a dishwasher.
