Filling pots: a bag of loose coco coir lets you divide the medium between your containers. Plagron Cocos Premium and Atami Cocos Substrate both come in 50 litre bags. Add up nominal pot volumes, allowing for existing root balls and your fill level. The number of bags you need depends on that volume.
Feeding from the start: Plagron Cocos Premium has no added fertilisers. Use a suitable coco nutrient solution from the beginning. Atami Cocos Substrate is lightly fertilised. Match extra nutrients to that initial fertilisation, plant stage and water rather than automatically giving both products the same dose.
Using slabs: B’cuzz cocos slab is sold individually. Choose this format for a setup designed for slabs. Check slab dimensions, tray dimensions, planting openings and drainage first. Choose plant spacing for your crop and the layout of your system.

Coco coir requires a different feeding approach from fertilised potting soil. Choose coco nutrients and a schedule for your exact product line. With an A&B feed, add each concentrate to the water separately and mix between additions. Never mix undiluted concentrates together.
Measure the complete nutrient solution with a pH meter and an EC meter. A substrate EC figure is not automatically the target for your nutrient water. Read why measuring pH and EC matters.
Check moisture in the root zone and provide drainage for excess water. Pot volume, plant size, root development and climate determine how much and how often you need to water. One fixed timer setting cannot suit every coco setup.
When using drippers, measure their actual output and check distribution across your pots or slabs. Our guide to calculating and checking water volume helps you set up that check.

Choose an Atami schedule for your medium. Calculate A and B separately and use root and bloom additives at the right stage.
