Why measuring pH and EC matters

pH decides which nutrients your plant can take up in the first place. Too high or too low and the nutrients are in the water but never reach the plant — you see deficiencies even though you fed correctly.
EC tells you something else: how much nutrition is in the water. Together the two numbers tell you whether your schedule holds up. Measure at every watering and write it down; a series of readings says far more than a single one.
