When should you choose Sono Connect?
Sono Connect is flexible ducting with acoustic and thermal insulation. Choose it when sound travelling through the duct and heat transfer between the duct and its surroundings matter to your installation. Allow room for the insulation and outer jacket as well as the duct diameter.
The duct is one part of the ventilation system. Consider fan vibration, filter resistance, bends and the outlet too. For a straightforward flexible air connection, also explore Combi Connect ducting.
Start with the connections and route
Record the connection sizes on your extraction fan, carbon filter and outlet. Measure the actual route, including space for broad bends and supports. Use the length you need: a 10 metre roll does not mean the whole length should be installed.
Keep the run short and straight where possible, extend the section you use and support it. Avoid tight bends and crushed sections. Our guide to choosing ventilation ducting helps you assess type, diameter and length together.
Which Sono Connect diameter do you need?
Our seven sizes are 127, 160, 200, 250, 315, 356 and 406 mm. Each comes in a 10 metre length. The diameter describes the air passage; insulated ducting needs more space around it.
Choose a size that fits the intended connection. Check the actual fit before ordering: 127 and 125 mm, 250 and 254 mm, or 356 and 355 mm are different size designations. Do not assume they are interchangeable.
Connecting different sizes? Choose a suitable duct reducer and check both ends. A larger duct or extra tape cannot correct an unsuitable connection. Read our guide to duct diameter and fit for the checks that matter.
