A Y-piece creates an angled branch: one duct run can split into two, or two runs can join. Draw the airflow direction and the route to your tent, filter and extractor first. Check the space needed for the fitting and connected ducting.
Does the branch need to meet the main duct at a right angle? Browse our metal duct tees and read how to choose between a tee and a Y-piece. Choose the shape around the duct route and check that the fitting suits your layout.
Two outlets do not automatically deliver equal airflow. Duct length, bends, filters and restrictions affect the resistance in each branch. A Y-piece does not regulate airflow or increase the capacity of your fan.
Planning to connect two duct runs to one extractor? Assess the required airflow, complete ductwork and operation of both branches together. Keep flexible ducting free of kinks, support the branch and check the system after installation.
Our range includes seven Spiro Y-pieces with stated diameters of 127, 160, 200, 250, 315, 355 and 406 mm. Use the diameter filter to find your size. Record the connection size of the main duct and both branches before ordering.
127 mm is different from 125 mm, and 355 mm is different from 356 mm. Check actual inside and outside dimensions and whether the duct slides over the connection. Matching size names still require a suitable fit.
Joining different diameters? Choose a suitable transition from our duct reducers. For straight joints, see our duct connectors. Read our guide to duct diameter and fit, or ask us to help check all three connections.

Send us the sizes of your main duct and both branches, a photo and the available space. We can help you choose a suitable Y-piece and connecting fittings.

Match flanges, connectors and reducers by function and fit. Check both ends and avoid assuming that 125 mm and 127 mm are interchangeable.

Compare right-angle and angled branches. Choose a tee or Y-piece by the duct route, and understand why two outlets do not guarantee equal airflow.
