A propagation pot provides an intermediate container for a young plant with a small root ball. Choose a pot with room for further root growth. A much larger pot is not automatically better: extra growing medium can remain wet while the roots occupy only a small part of it.
Use a growing medium suited to the plant and its stage. Water gently and check moisture in the root ball. Keep drainage openings clear and avoid leaving the pot standing in collected water. The 0.5 litre capacity is not a recommended watering amount.
The Fertraso propagation pot holds 0.5 litres and is sold individually. The photo shows the pot and a separate view of the base with drainage openings. Choose your quantity according to the number of young plants you want to grow separately.
Check the root ball as the plant grows. Once roots fill the available space, choose a suitable larger container. Carefully remove the root ball from the plastic pot and support it while transplanting. Avoid pulling on a delicate stem.
Compare capacities, but also measure external dimensions before choosing a tray. Explore our larger plant pots for growing on, or our propagation supplies for other starting materials.
