Canna feeding schedule: Terra or Coco and the right dose

A Canna feeding schedule starts with your growing medium. Terra works differently from Coco A&B. We explain how to choose the base nutrients, identify the plant stage and convert a schedule dose to the water you prepare.

CANNA Terra Vega, Terra Flores and Coco A&B

Choose the nutrient line for your medium first

CANNA Terra is formulated for growing soil. Terra Vega is the growth feed; Terra Flores is used when flowering begins. The soil’s prefertilisation matters: a richly fertilised soil gives plants a different start from a lightly fertilised mix. The amount of feed in a bottle does not tell you how much nutrition is already present around the roots.

For coco coir, use CANNA Coco A&B. Both parts form the base feed together during growth and flowering. You do not switch from A to B when plants flower. The dose can change with the stage, but A and B remain equal.

Let your plants set the pace

A feeding schedule divides development into stages. A longer vegetative period means staying in the appropriate growth section for longer; a week number alone is no reason to start flowering feed. With Terra, switch to Flores when flowering begins. With Coco, the two-part base stays in use.

Start with the base nutrients and assess supplements afterwards. RHIZOTONIC, CANNAZYM, CANNABOOST and PK 13/14 have different roles. An extra bottle cannot correct unsuitable watering or the wrong medium. Our CANNABOOST and PK 13/14 comparison helps you choose flowering supplements for a defined purpose.

Calculate water volume and both components

First check whether the schedule lists millilitres per litre or per ten litres. Here is a conditional example: if the appropriate dose is 20 ml A and 20 ml B per 10 litres, then 5 litres needs 10 ml A and 10 ml B. Halve both quantities; do not divide a single total of 10 ml between the bottles. This is a calculation example, not a fixed dose for every plant.

Use the volume you actually prepare, even if your reservoir is larger. Measure accurately with a measuring jug. Our Coco A&B mixing guide explains the separate mixing steps.

Check the finished nutrient solution

Measure your source water first, then check the fully mixed solution with pH and EC meters. The water’s EC contributes to the total EC; pH is a different measurement and is not added to EC.

Record watering, doses and plant responses. Avoid changing several factors at once if you want to understand the effect of an adjustment. Then compare Canna nutrients by function and bottle size, keeping the programme aligned with your actual usage.
