Set the fan speed manually

Want to choose the speed yourself? Cli-mate 5-speed controllers offer five manual settings, with 5A, 7A, 11A and 13A versions. A selected setting does not automatically respond to a temperature change. First check whether your motor supports this control method.

Respond to temperature automatically

KC climate controllers provide stepless temperature control and come in 7A, 12A and 16A versions. The function remains the same within this series; choose the current rating for the connected load. The KC 7A is therefore not a choice based on a fixed tent area.

Multi controllers come in 7+7A, 12+12A and 16+16A versions and have four connection points. Check the permitted load per channel and connection. Two ratings cannot simply be added together as the allowance for a single output.

Frequency control for a suitable motor

The FC series controls motor speed through frequency and has a digital display. Choose from 3A, 7A and 15A versions. Compare the 7A frequency controller with other FC models by load. KC and FC controllers use different control methods. Check the exact motor model, including any EC fan with its own control input.

Switch lighting, or control lighting and climate

Mini controllers combine lighting switching with climate control: 2 × 600W with 3A, or 4 × 600W with 7A. Voi-boxes are separate timer relay boxes for 4 × 600W or 8 × 600W. A lighting rating in watts is not a fan current rating in amps. Check both parts of the installation separately.

Which Cli-mate suits your grow room?

Start with your fan’s rating plate and connections. Note its motor, voltage, current draw and supported control method. Then decide whether you want a fixed speed or an automatic response to temperature.

Check the running load and starting requirements. Include every connected device and the limits of each output. A higher current rating does not make an unsuitable motor compatible.

A controller operates connected equipment; it does not cool or dehumidify the room on its own. Check the results with a thermo-hygrometer and consider your extraction capacity and airflow path too.
