Choose the position before the diameter

A wall fan keeps floor space free. Before buying, identify a load-bearing mounting point and measure the clearance for the complete fan, bracket and oscillation. The nominal diameter is not the overall size of the unit.

The 45 cm Ralight has 50, 60 and 90 W settings. The 50 cm Ralight has 70, 80 and 110 W settings. Assess the larger size and higher power alongside your available space. Extra power cannot compensate for poor placement.

Start on a low setting and direct air along the crop. Check for gentle leaf movement in several places. If leaves are constantly pushed flat, adjust the direction, distance or speed.

Ralight fan questions answered

Need help choosing a Ralight fan?

Tell us your mounting position, available space and preferred model. We help you assess the version and placement.

  • Suitable load-bearing mounting point

  • Clearance for grille and oscillation

  • Circulation and extraction planned separately

Fine-tuning air circulation

Check air movement behind large plants and in sheltered corners. Oscillation varies the direction, but blocked airflow still needs attention. Repeat the check as the crop grows taller or denser.

Measure temperature and humidity at crop level. If readings remain too high, assess extraction and incoming air as well. A circulation fan does not actively cool the incoming air or remove moisture from the room.

Allowing for power and maintenance

Calculate energy use as power in watts ÷ 1000 × operating hours. Eight hours at 90 W is 0.72 kWh; at 110 W it is 0.88 kWh. These are examples using the highest stated setting, not our own power measurements.

Keep the grille and mounting accessible. Unplug the fan before cleaning or changing its mounting. Check the cable and fixings regularly and keep water away from the motor and connections.
