BioBizz Bio·Grow or Fish·Mix: which should you choose?

Bio·Grow and Fish·Mix both have a role during vegetative growth, but their ingredients and place in a feeding routine differ. We explain how to choose one growth base and manage the transition to flowering.

BioBizz Bio·Grow and Fish·Mix

The main difference is the formulation

BioBizz Bio·Grow is a liquid growth fertiliser made with ingredients including sugar beet extract, also called vinasse. Fish·Mix combines sugar beet extract with fish ingredients. Both have a place in a growth feeding routine, but the fish ingredients mean Fish·Mix is not vegan. Do not apply a characteristic of one bottle to the entire BioBizz range.

Start with your current programme, medium and ingredient preferences. A bottle’s colour or smell does not determine how much your plants need. Accurate dosing matters with organic nutrients too.

Choose one growth base within the schedule

During vegetative growth, the BioBizz programme lets you choose Bio·Grow or Fish·Mix. They are alternatives in that application. Combining two full schedule doses does not create a more balanced programme; it adds two nutrient contributions without adjusting the rest of the feeding routine.

Uneven growth first calls for a check of watering and the root environment. If the medium stays wet all the time, a second growth fertiliser will not solve that problem. Also consider the prefertilisation of your soil and the plant stage. Young plants start from a different position than larger plants growing actively.

Moving into the flowering programme

The BioBizz flowering programme continues with Bio·Grow and Bio·Bloom. If you used Fish·Mix as your growth base, switch to Bio·Grow at this transition, following the schedule for your medium. This does not mean Fish·Mix is inherently unsuitable for a flowering plant; the point is to keep this feeding programme coherent.

Bio·Bloom provides flowering nutrition, while Top·Max is an additional flowering stimulator. Top·Max does not replace Bio·Bloom. Let the actual flowering stage determine when you make the change and allow for a longer vegetative period where necessary.

Make the choice practical

  • Check which growing medium you use and which schedule matches it.

  • Choose Bio·Grow or Fish·Mix as the growth base, without doubling full doses.

  • Calculate quantities from the volume of water you prepare.

  • With soft water, assess separately whether a calcium and magnesium supplement is needed.

For a complete routine, start with our explanation of the BioBizz feeding schedule. Then compare individual bottles in BioBizz nutrients. Choose a bottle size suited to your usage so you can keep carrying out the same programme accurately.
