Choosing Opticlimate: cooling capacity, water and installation
Which Opticlimate fits your grow room? Start with heat load and moisture production. Then check water cooling, condensate drainage, airflow and electrical supply before choosing PRO3 or RevoMax II.

Start with the load in your room
Record the equipment producing heat, its operating hours and the moisture added by plants and watering. Include insulation, target day and night temperatures and conditions outside the room. This lets you compare Opticlimate climate units against the job they need to do.
A model number does not specify a fixed floor area. Two rooms of equal size can have very different heat and moisture loads. Have the required capacity assessed for your setup before ordering.
Keep cooling capacity separate from electricity use
Our PRO3 range provides 3.5 to 15 kW of cooling capacity. The 3500 PRO3 provides 3.5 kW and the 6000 PRO3 6 kW. These figures are not electrical consumption. Check the compressor, heating and auxiliary equipment’s electrical requirements separately.
Choosing PRO3 or RevoMax II
PRO3 combines cooling, heating, dehumidification, filtration and circulation. RevoMax II uses inverter control for the compressor and combines temperature and humidity control. You could compare the RevoMax II 10,000, but confirm the exact version before preparing its electrical supply.
Read dehumidification figures together with their test conditions. Temperature and relative humidity affect the condensate collected. A capacity under one test condition does not predict a fixed daily volume in every room.
Cooling water and condensate are separate systems
Cooling water removes heat from the unit. An open installation needs a continuous suitable water source and discharge. A closed loop with a water cooler recirculates cooling water but needs suitable additional equipment and a designed pipe system.
Condensate comes from moisture removed from the air. Plan a separate drain with sufficient fall. Where gravity drainage is not possible, assess a suitable condensate pump. Check the actual lift height, volume and hose size. Do not copy pump specifications from a different model.
Plan return air and distribution together
The unit needs adequate intake air and must distribute conditioned air through the room. For a unit located outside the grow room, check the plenum box and connected air path. A 6000 PRO3 plenum box is specifically named for that version.
Duct diameter alone does not establish suitability. Length, bends, return air and the distribution hose’s characteristics affect resistance. Consider ventilation ducting as part of the whole design.
Gather these details before buying
Heat load, moisture production and target operating conditions.
The unit’s exact series, model and generation.
Cooling-water supply, discharge and any water cooler.
Gravity condensate drainage or a suitable pump.
Return air, distribution, service access and structural support.
Supply voltage, phase and electrical protection for the exact version.
Have a suitable installer assess the electrical and water systems. Match replacement Opticlimate spare parts using the rating plate and part number. For general moisture questions, read our guide to grow room humidity. Send us your details and we will help you choose.
